Aeration System Revitalizes Lakes & Ponds
The Environmental Technology system is a fine bubble, low maintenance, economical system, that introduces air at the bottom of the watershed which increases the oxygen content of the water and keeps organic matter under control rather than floating or decaying on the bottom.

Lakes or ponds normally circulate oxygen naturally. In the summer, the top layers grow warmer and rich in oxygen while the bottom layers stay cold and use up oxygen. During the fall and spring, temperature-density relationships cause the strata to exchange places. These exchanges mix water throughout the entire depth of the watershed.

If excessive amounts of waste are dumped into a lake or pond, there comes a time when the oxygen consumption of the waste and decaying algae is greater than the oxygen introduced into the water from the air and by living algae. At this point even the natural exchange of water strata cannot provide adequate oxygen and the watershed becomes stratified and oxygen deficient. This condition is called eutrophication.

The Environmental Technology system overcomes eutrophication by artificially inducing vertical circulation of the water and thus increasing the oxygen and content of the bottom layer of water.

Aeration diffusers, placed on the bottom of the lake or pond, release thousands of small air bubbles per minute. These bubbles rise to the surface pushing bottom water ahead of them. The displaced water is replaced by water which has moved down from above. Pumping action of rising column creates a circular flow pattern which is the bottom.

The small sized bubbles is the key to the system. Tiny bubbles provide very efficient pumping without disturbing the bottom sludges. No turbulence is created therefore, no unwanted sediment is brought to the surface. In addition, the slow rise rate of small bubbles allows prolonged contact with the water and that increases the amount of oxygen dissolved into the water.

Environmental Technology Applications:

  • Increase in dissolved oxygen levels
  • Increase in fish production
  • Reduce foul odor & taste
  • Reduce buildup of organic sludge
  • Reduce algae and aquatic plant growth
  • Destratification throughout the watershed
  • Prevention of summer & winter fishkill
  • Provides ice free area for waterfowl
  • Reduces or eliminates ice damages to piers, docks and boat houses
Environmental Technology Features:
  • Fine bubble for higher oxygen transfer rates
